CYO Basketball
About
The Basilica of Saint Mary CYO Basketball program fosters skill development, cooperation, respect, sportsmanship, competitiveness, and fairness, all in a fun environment. Team members develop through basketball education and competition with other Catholic schools in the Diocese. The program strives to ensure equal opportunity for all and to create a sense of team & community pride for our players, parents and volunteers.
Players of all levels (beginner to advanced) in Grades 3 – 8 are welcome to participate. The Basilica of Saint Mary teams compete against other parish schools in the Northern Virginia Junior CYO program
Cost is $115 per participant for the season, ($65 for general CYO costs and $50 for uniform that becomes property of the player). If you are in possession of your uniform from the 23-24 season, no uniform costs are incurred.
Key dates will be confirmed in the Fall 2024 but are close to what is listed below)
- Registration ends mid – late September
- Weeks of Oct 23 and Oct 30 – player evaluations
- Nov 13 – practices start
- December – games start all grades
- No games or practices over Christmas break
- January – end of March –games continue (note: Grades 5 – 8 compete in end of season tournaments, Grades 3 & 4 seasons will end after regular season.
