Luminaries of Holy Mary – Fatima Prayer Group

Would you like to join others in our parish to prayerfully ponder the message of Fatima and grow closer to our Lord through a devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary? Then consider becoming a member of the Luminaries of Holy Mary. This group at the Basilica meets on the third Saturday of every month. The group attends the 8:30 am Mass, prays a Rosary in the church after Mass and then have the meeting in the Lyceum’s Saint Joseph Room around 9:30 am. Meeting attendees are encouraged to purchase the book that the group is now reading called “A Pathway under the Gaze of Mary: Biography of Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart” written by the Sisters of Carmel of Coimbra. It can be purchased by clicking here.

Members also join the parish community in attending the Communal First Saturdays. On the first Saturday of every month, the Basilica will have:

  • Eucharistic Adoration and a Guided Meditation on a Mystery of the Rosary at 8:00 am
  • Mass at 8:30 am
  • Confessions and a Rosary at 9:00 am

On December 10, 1925, Our Lady told Sister Lucia of Fatima, “I promise to assist at the hour of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who on the first Saturday of five consecutive months go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep company with me for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.”

Please listen to a podcast to hear the Luminaries of Holy Mary apostolate leader, Frank Spicer, share about the group and offer a reflection on the Holy Name of Jesus:
