Confirmation Pilgrimage for Eighth Graders and Parents

“A pilgrimage is a journey a pilgrim makes to a sacred place for the purpose of venerating it or to ask for heavenly aid, and ultimately to come to know God better.” – World Youth Day website

For over over a decade, The Basilica of Saint Mary has led a pilgrimage each year to Italy for eighth graders and their parents during the Easter season, shortly before/after the they have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.  It is an extraordinary opportunity for parents and children to grow in their faith by visiting some of the holiest and most beautiful Christian sites in the world.  Each student must travel with one parent and both parents are welcome to participate.

Generally, the Pilgrimage is scheduled during Easter week and may include visits to Vatican City, Rome, Orvieto, Assisi, Siena, Loreto, Lanciano, Sperlonga, Gaeta, Lenola, and more.

Father Edward Hathaway and school parent, Beth Ann Garcia, recorded a podcast to share details about the pilgrimage and to talk about the spiritual benefits of going on a pilgrimage. Listen by clicking on the link below:
