Musician Biographies

Sherry Graveson - Assistant Organist

Sherry Turner Graveson has been serving as organist at First Baptist Church for over twenty years and is also the associate organist at St Mary Catholic Church, both in Alexandria. She is a Colleague of the American Guild of Organists and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Organ Performance and Music Education from West Virginia University. Her organ teachers have included Edgar Highberger, William Haller and Donald Sutherland. Her piano teachers have included Carol Miller and James Miltenberger. Currently, she is an organ student of Jeremy Filsell.

As a professional accompanist, Sherry frequently plays for numerous vocal, instrumental and choral recitals, and accompanies members of the Washington, D.C. military bands. She is a staff accompanist at the Little Theater of Alexandria. Sherry has performed with the Washington Master Chorale Chamber Singers and the Washington Symphony Orchestra. Sherry also teaches private piano lessons. She and her husband George live in Alexandria with their three children Matthew, Timothy and Abigail.

Glen Frank - Assistant Organist

Glendon Frank served as Ceremonial Organist and Director of Music for the Military Catholic Community Fort Myer from 2011 to 2016.   As Ceremonial Organist he performed over 2500 funerals and memorials at the Old Post Chapel for Arlington National Cemetery. As Director of Music and Organist for the Military Catholic Community he was responsible for managing the Catholic music program, planning music for masses and holy days, and directing the choir.   Additionally, Glen has served as one of the staff organists at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria from 2012 to 2016.

Glen is a graduate of Wittenberg University School of Music in Springfield, OH, and Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. Additional studies in organ, piano, improvisation, and church music were at the Berliner Kirchenmusikschule, Berlin, Germany. Prior to moving to Virginia in 2011 he was active as a church musician in the San Francisco Bay Area for thirty years.
