CYO Basketball Parent Volunteers

BSM basketball typically has 2-3 teams per grade per gender, meaning we need lots of volunteer coaches. Each team has a head coach and an assistant coach. Volunteer coaches are approved by the Basketball Coordinator and BSM Athletic Director.

All volunteers are required to be OPCYP Compliant, which means both Virtus certified and background checked. As this process can take some time, if you are interested in coaching, please reach out ASAP.

All coaches must attend the Diocesan “Play Like a Champion,” (PLAC) training that the Diocese of Arlington coordinates annually. Coordinators will communicate PLAC dates and registration link(s) as soon as they are available.

Other volunteer opportunities include score keeper, clock official, and Christian Sportsmanship Liaison. (These are not FIS positions, but are needed throughout the season.)
