Overview

WorkCamp is a week where high schoolers serve neighbors through home repair while growing in faith and community.

Mission

“Arlington Diocesan WorkCamp is an intentional Christian Community that provides an experience of direct service for young people within the boundaries of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.”

  • Community: Prepare and serve rooted in Word & Sacrament.
  • Direct Service: Hands-on works of mercy.
  • Accompaniment: Adults support youth discipleship.
  • Local Need: Serve within our Diocese.

Dates & Location

  • WorkCamp Week: Saturday, June 20 – Friday, June 26, 2026
  • Arrival: Sat, June 20 (6:30–7:30 PM) · Orientation Sat/Sun
  • Work Days: Mon–Thu, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (painting, drywall, ramps, deck/window repair, clean-up)
  • Departure: Fri, June 26 (~2:00 PM)
  • Where: Shenandoah County, VA (school-based lodging; separate male/female areas)

Eligibility

  • Rising 10th graders through graduating seniors
  • Catholic in good standing; maturity & teamwork
  • Attend prep meetings and parish fundraising
  • Follow diocesan guidelines & team norms

Selection & Notes

  • Parish application deadline: Wednesday, December 31, 2025
  • Rolling parish acceptance; then complete diocesan registration
  • Required meetings (esp. Tool Training); missing these may forfeit your spot
  • Final confirmation after registration closes & participation is demonstrated

  • Apr 26, 2026 · 6:15–7:30 PM: What to Bring & Packing
  • May 31, 2026 · 2:00–5:00 PM: Tools & Safety (Pitt St. Lot)
  • Jun 14, 2026 · 6:15–7:30 PM: Tying it Together

All meetings are mandatory (serious illness is the only exception).

Costs & Fundraising

  • Estimated total: $600 per participant (materials, meals, program)
  • Billing: Balance email in early June; due the week before WorkCamp
  • Fundraising: Required for all; parish-wide efforts lower out-of-pocket
  • Key dates: Register by Feb 15, 2026 · Drop without penalty by Apr 20, 2026
