WorkCamp is an intentional Christian Community that provides an experience of direct service for young people within the boundaries of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.  Every week during the summer, 800+ high schoolers come together to repair homes and change lives.

WorkCamp 2017 Recap

Overview

When? ​

• June 23-29, 2018
• Leave for WorkCamp on Saturday, June 23 around 3PM
• Return to St. Mary’s on Friday, June 29 around 4PM

Where?

• Fredericksburg, VA; the group will be based at Massaponax High School. Sleeping quarters are divided with girls/women in one area and boys/men in another.
• Job sites will be within an hour’s driving distance. Teams will be driven by adult crew leaders using vans rented by each parish

What do we do?

• Saturday evening and Sunday are orientation days.
• Monday through Thursday are full work days (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Work projects consist of basic home repairs—painting, drywall, roofing, building wheelchair ramps, deck repair, window installation, and indoor and outdoor clean-up.
• Daily morning Mass and evening programs for all participants

What does it cost?

• $475 per participant (includes a $50 deposit due with registration)
• We will fundraise collectively to reduce the out-of-pocket cost. Participants are also encouraged to fundraise individually through letter writing.
• Most of the participant fee goes into purchasing the materials for home repairs. Some provide breakfast and dinner for the week as well as cover the cost of the evening program.
