Saint Gregory Children’s Choir School to Sing at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on May 21, 2023; Learn More at Reception Following the Mass
Save the date! The Saint Gregory Children’s Choir School will sing at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on May 21, 2023. A reception for current and prospective students and parents will be held after Mass in the parish courtyard. Students interested in joining the choir in the fall are encouraged to attend the Mass and reception to learn more about the choir.
The school is open to any Catholic boy or girl, ages 8-12. The choir meets after school twice a week for an hour. Children do not need to be a student at The Basilica School of Saint Mary or a parishioner at the Basilica to join. No prior musical training is required. Over the course of the program, students will learn to read music fluently and sing with confidence, everything from Gregorian chant to modern compositions. Students also learn music theory according to the curriculum of the Royal College of Music in Toronto.
