Past and Present RCIA Participants Invited to Learn More about the Blessed Virgin Mary Starting in Early June 2023

Over the summer, incoming and recent RCIA participants are invited to a small group study and discussion on the Blessed Virgin Mary. As the Arlington Diocese prepares to celebrate its Jubilee in 2024, we are in the lead-up year that focuses on Mary. Learn more about the Mother of God from Scripture and the Catechism when we meet on Monday evenings, 7-8:30 p.m., at Casa Frassati/307 South Royal Street on June 5, 12, 26, July 10, 17, 24, and 31, 2023. Click here to register. It’s free.

We will be using The Blessed Virgin Mary workshop series from the Catechetical Institute, Franciscan University. Scott Sollom, Associate Professor of the Catechetics Office at Franciscan, leads each weeks’ topic by video that is followed up with discussion questions.

All are welcome to come to one or all of the small group Marian study dates.

Using Scripture and the Catechism, along with Franciscan’s video, questions, and handouts, topics presented are:

  • We are called to be like Mary
  • Mary, the Ark of the Covenant
  • Doctrines about Mary refer us to Christ and the Blessed Trinity
  • Mary is the Mother of God
  • Mary is the Immaculate Conception
  • Mary is Perpetually Virgin and Assumed into Heaven Mary is our Mother in the Order of Grace
