“Catholicism in Colonial America” with Father Charles Connor – 1795 Lecture Series


Father Charles Connor gave a lecture as part of our 1795 Series on February 18. He spoke about “Catholicism in Colonial America.” The 1795 Lecture Series is one of the ways the Basilica of Saint Mary is commemorating our 225th anniversary.

Father Connor is a faculty member at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. An expert in Church history, he is the author of Pioneer Priests and Makeshift Altars: A History of Catholicism in the Thirteen Colonies. He has hosted several television programs on EWTNincluding Catholic Beginnings, a series that explores the rich Catholic heritage in America and its influence on the nation..
