CYO Cross Country Practice Schedule

Main practice locations are Fort Hunt Park, Picnic Area E, Mount Vernon District Park (at the Martha Washington Library) and Clermont Park (off Franconia Road)

We will follow the same general flow at each practice:

  • Coach led warm-up jog followed by dynamic stretching routine and a short discussion of the purpose and goals of the day’s training
  • Form and agility drills (key for developing proper form, strength, agility, and flexibility)
  • Workout – endurance and pacing focused. Progressively lengthened throughout the season.
  • Running games and team events focused on particular practice goals (pacing, speed, power, etc.)
  • Short core/strength workout with light cool down stretching
