Bishop Burbidge Shares a Letter Announcing the Diocesan Synodal Process

On October 10, 2021, Pope Francis inaugurated a two-year journey to the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome in October 2023.  The theme is: For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission. Synodality encourages the People of God to walk together and listen to one another and to the Holy Spirit so we may live in communion and respond to God’s call. In preparation for the Synod, Pope Francis has asked that every diocese undertake its own synodal process. 

With that in mind, Bishop Michael Burbidge has announced that listening sessions be held at each parish by its pastor and at other local communities throughout the Diocese from February 2022 through April 2022. The Diocese will collect the results of these sessions and draft a report that will be submitted to the Holy See.
