Basilica hosts Baccalaureate Mass for Basilica School of Saint Mary eighth-grade graduates

The Basilica of Saint Mary hosted a Baccalaureate Mass for the graduating eighth-grade students from the Basilica School of Saint Mary on June 12. Father Edward Hathaway, Rector of the Basilica, was the celebrant.

“You’ve been well prepared by your teachers and parents for this next step,” said Father Hathaway during his homily. “One of the words for graduation is commencement. To commence something means to begin. You are closing one chapter in your life, but you are also beginning the next adventure.”
