Bishop Barron aptly said that you could summarize Christ’s life with two words “Come” and “Go”. First Jesus invites us to ‘come’ and follow him and be His disciples. Then He sends us on mission to ‘go’, evangelize, and share the Gospel with the world.
The Apostle Peter tells the Christian faithful to always be prepared to defend and explain the Faith to those who ask (1 Pt. 3:15). As people fully capable of responsible commitment to the Gospel, Christian adults have a special calling and mission to be the salt and light of the world. At The Basilica of Saint Mary, we believe in supporting educational opportunities for adults to continue learning about the Catholic faith, and we generally provide these opportunities free of charge.
We regularly provide informative events throughout the year to provide sound Catholic education for adults. This program consists of lectures given either by St. Mary’s priests or guest speakers on various topics relevant to the Catholic faith. All are welcome to attend, regardless of religious affiliation. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Susan Gray.
