His home parish is St. Katharine Drexel Mission in Haymarket, Virginia
What did you do prior to entering seminary?
After graduating high school, I worked at Wegmans as a cashier. I loved working in retail and worked most of the different departments eventually becoming an entry-level manager. I also took welding classes at NOVA for about a year.
What influenced your decision to apply for seminary entrance?
A holy priest helped reawaken my faith, and after praying in front of the Eucharist, I realized that God might be calling me to be a priest.
Why do you want to be a priest?
After working in a grocery store for two years, I’ve begun to realize that I love working with and helping others. I really want to live a life where I can grow in my faith and help others do the same.
What are your favorite pastimes?
I love going to adoration, whenever I have the chance, as well as tinkering and learning about cars.
What is your favorite quote?
“This is my commandment: Love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this to lay down one’s life for one’s friends…” (John 15:12-13)
Who is your favorite saint and why?
St. Maximilian Kolbe is one of my favorite saints. He was a great priest who stood up against the evils of the modern world and fought for what was right. He was also imprisoned and tortured under the Nazi reign, eventually giving his life so that another prisoner could live on and see his family again.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?
If God has a plan for you, that is where you will be the happiest. If God is calling you to be a priest, that is where you will feel the most fulfilled and at peace. Just remember he will give you all the strength you need to succeed, all you must do is trust and have faith. If it’s not where you’re meant to be the time spent in seminary will never be wasted.
Any other fun facts about yourself that people might find interesting?
I was homeschooled and have 8 siblings.
