Girl Scouts Focus on Helping Alexandria K-9 Unit
Twelve Girl Scouts from St. Mary’s Troop 2795 achieved the Silver Award on December 15, 2017. The Silver Award is the 2nd highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. The focus of the Silver Award is to do big things and make a positive contribution to the community. The girls chose the Alexandria Police Foundation K-9 Unit for their project. They held a bake sale and car wash to raise money for the K-9 Unit and their dogs. This fund sustains future ballistic vests for our 4-legged K-9 officers, everyday harnesses for all 8 dogs and K-9 tactical gloves for our the K-9 officers.
Look who stopped by to get some treats – K9 ZigZag and his partner. Still have time to get some for yourself. #girlscoutcookies pic.twitter.com/6Ab8ZXM4lv
