Deacon Brian Wirth to serve at the Basilica of Saint Mary

Deacon Brian Wirth, a transitional deacon and seminarian at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary, has been assigned to the Basilica of Saint Mary to serve throughout his final year of seminary formation. He will begin this weekend. He has written a letter to the parish to introduce himself:

Hello! My name is Deacon Brian Wirth. I am from Nebraska and a seminarian of the Diocese of Lincoln. I grew up on a sixth generation family farm and attended Catholic school, Our Lady of Lourdes Central Catholic, kindergarten through twelfth grade. Following high school, I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2013.

Currently, I am in my fourth and final year studying Theology at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland where I am pursuing a Master of Divinity and an M.A. Degree in Moral Theology. I will be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lincoln this upcoming May.

I am both humbled and excited to be with you at the Basilica of Saint Mary! I look forward to meeting and getting to know you. Please be assured of my continued prayers for all of you. God bless!

To Jesus through Mary,
Deacon Brian Wirth
