A Women’s Silent Retreat — “Finding Peace with Jesus and Mary in Advent” — Will Be Held on Dec. 3-5, 2021

The Basilica of Saint Mary’s Rosary Society invites women to attend a women’s silent retreat called “Finding Peace with Jesus and Mary in Advent” on December 3-5, 2021. The participants will gather at San Damiano, the Diocesan Retreat Center at the edge of the Shenandoah Mountains in White Post, VA.

“Calm… Quiet… Contemplative… Peaceful… Waiting in Joyful Anticipation.” These words describe what the Holy Season of Advent ought to be (and rarely is). Instead, the weeks before “the holidays” tend to be manic, stressful, anxious, and distracted as women rush to meet the “great expectations” of their families and those about them. “Come aside and rest awhile” to “treasure and ponder” the true meaning of the Advent Season. 

Father John Riley will be offering Mass, confessions, and conferences during this silent retreat for women who would like to learn from the Infancy Narratives in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew how to live, pray, and draw nearer to Jesus in spite of the confusion and fear that seem to prevail in these challenging times.
