Basilica of Saint Mary exceeds financial goal for 2019 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal

The Basilica of Saint Mary has exceeded its financial goal for the 2019 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal. It was announced on May 9 that the Diocese of Arlington has received 906 pledges totaling $710,723 from parishioners of the Basilica of Saint Mary. The Diocese of Arlington set the Basilica’s goal at $700,000 for this year’s BLA. Thank you to everyone who made a sacrificial gift and prayed for the success of the BLA.

The Bishop’s Lenten Appeal is the primary means of support for the many diocesan-wide ministries, programs, services and good works of our faith community. Support of the appeal helps the less fortunate among us, provides spiritual and physical comfort and counsel to those in crisis, and inspires children, young adults and families to embrace and nurture their Catholic faith.
