Welcome to the Basilica!

Maria Ammirati is our new administrative assistant in the parish office. She is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She also attended Dowling College for reading education and computer science. She was born and raised in New York, where her family was active in their home parish, attended Catholic schools, spent a lot of time outside, and at the beach. She has worked in both Catholic and public schools, retail management and customer service, and was once a licensed massage therapist. She is a member of St. Raymond’s parish. Maria has worked for the Arlington Diocese for 20 years.

Fr. Joseph Moschetto, formerly from St. Veronica in Chantilly, is our new priest-in-residence at the Basilica and the new chaplain at Bishop Ireton High School. He replaces Fr. Noah Morey, who was formerly a priest-in-residence at the Basilica and the former chaplain at Bishop Ireton High School, who was named to be the new vocation director for the Diocese of Arlington.

Mary Marlowe is our new office manager. Mary was born in California and lived in Japan for three years, where she attended a Catholic school from 1st through 3rd grades. Her family then moved to Northern Virginia, where she attended Catholic grade and high schools. She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at William and Mary. She has lived in numerous cities in the U.S. and abroad, mostly in the Middle East. She’s worked in the private and public sectors, as well as in many volunteer positions in schools, churches and scouting. She loves to travel, especially to visit Holy Sites. She loves to listen to Catholic podcasts and is a huge fan of EWTN.
