POSTPONED – “The Next Pope: The Office of Peter and a Church in Mission” with George Weigel

At Mr. Weigel’s request, this event has been postponed to the Spring of 2021. We will have a new registration link available in 2021 for the rescheduled event.

Author George Weigel will speak on his new book, The Next Pope: The Office of Peter and a Church in Mission, during a lecture at the Basilica of Saint Mary on Tuesday, September 22, at 7:30 pm. Drawing on his personal discussions with Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis, as well as his decades of experience with Catholics from every continent, Weigel will examine the major challenges confronting the Catholic Church in the twenty-first century: challenges the next pontificate must address as the Church enters new, uncharted territory. A book signing will follow in our Lyceum Auditorium (313 Duke Street).

Registration is required to attend. Seating is limited to 100 people due to COVID-19 restrictions, so please register here or call the parish office at 703-836-4100. Admission is free. If you register and cannot attend, please call the parish office so we can open your spot for someone else.

This lecture will also be live streamed on the parish website.
