The Basilica Is Hosting Four Seminarians for Two Weeks Until Feb. 2, 2025
The Basilica will be hosting four seminarians from Saturday, Jan. 18, through Sunday, Feb. 2. They are in their Propaedeutic Year, which is a stage of priestly formation that takes place before beginning the Discipleship Stage (i.e., before the study of Philosophy), introduces them to the spiritual life, and provides a solid foundation in human formation. It is not an academic year, but an opportunity within a formational community for new seminarians to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, come to a greater knowledge of the Catholic faith, and grow in character and virtue.
While at the Basilica, here are some of what these four men will be doing:
+ praying
+ serving at Christ House
+ engaging with youth and young adults in pastoral activities, including LifeFest
+ visiting the homebound and nursing homes
+ attending the March for Life
