The 2022 Diocesan Black Catholic History Month Conference Will Occur on November 5, 2022
November is Black Catholic History Month. During this month, Bishop Michael Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, and the Office of Multicultural Ministries’ Black Catholic Ministry invite you to “Do This In Remembrance of Me: Remembering Black Catholic History and how it impacts our faith here and now.”
The November 5th conference will feature dynamic speakers, both lay and religious, speaking on the lives of Black Catholic saints and saints to be, with an emphasis on “remembering” how Black Catholics changed the history of not only our country, but our own diocese. The conference begins at noon and concludes with a 5 p.m. Vigil Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington. Bishop Burbidge will be the main celebrant and homilist.
