St. Mary’s Honored at Catholic Charities Ball

St. Mary’s Parish received two distinguished awards at the annual Catholic Charities Ball on Friday, February 24. The annual fundraiser helps Catholic Charities fulfill its mission of providing assistance to the underserved in the Diocese of Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Guiffre received the James J. Matthews Legacy Award. This award recognizes individuals who embody Mr. Matthews’ spirit and long-time commitment to the ball. Ann and Joseph, two outstanding parishioners, more than exemplified the spirit of the Matthews award! The second award, the Bishop Paul Stephen Loverde Legacy Award, was received by Fr. Hathaway and the St. Mary’s Parish Staff on behalf of the parishioners of St. Mary’s. This award recognized St. Mary’s continual commitment to Christ House in Old Town. This award is in honor and thanksgiving for the years of service of Bishop Loverde to the poor.
