G.K. Chesterton journeys all the way from England to offer his own unique views on everything from the virtues of things small, whether they be families or pubs, to the evils of things large, whether they be imperialist schemes or socialist states. Join us for this great performance on Tuesday, October 17 at 7pm in the Lyceum Auditorium (313 Duke St).
Dr. John “Chuck” Chalberg delights many audiences throughout the United States with his historical impersonations of American and British characters, such as President Theodore Roosevelt and G.K. Chesterton.
His characterizations of Theodore Roosevelt and H.L. Mencken began as an extension of his teaching of American History at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN. In recent years he has added G.K. Chesterton, George Orwell, Branch Rickey, and most recently Bobby Jones, while reviving a past character, Huey Long.
Chuck is attempting to bring to life several significant figures of the past. He has performed for state chautauquas all over the country, as well as for many colleges and business groups. All of his characters (except Chesterton) take unrehearsed questions from their audiences.
