Join Us to Pray a Holy Hour for Peace after the 12:10 p.m. Mass on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025

The Basilica invites you to participate in a Holy Hour for Peace on Friday, August 15, which is a Holy Day of Obligation for the Feast of the Assumption, after the 12:10 p.m. Mass. Father Hathaway will lead the opening prayers, which will be followed by the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. (Confessions will occur, as usual, after the 12:10 p.m. Mass.)

The Holy Hour will continue when the staff of Bishop Ireton High School, who will be on retreat Friday at the Basilica, will begin a Holy Hour starting at 1:45 p.m. Father Joseph Moschettto, Bishop Ireton’s chaplain, will lead the recitation of the Rosary. All are also invited to pray during this second Holy Hour, which will conclude at 2:45 p.m. Prayers will be lifted up to ask for peace, especially for an end to the war in Ukraine, in conjunction with a Presidential Summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska this Friday, as they discuss the possibility of peace in Ukraine.

Please note that Aug. 15, 2025, is the Feast of the Assumption, a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times will be at 6:30 a.m.; 8 a.m.; 12:10 p.m. and 7 p.m.
