Helena Briggs to Talk about Life as a Missionary in Today’s Culture during Theology on Tap on November 22

All young adults (21-39) are invited to Theology on Tap in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria, at Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub on Monday, November 22. Our speaker for the evening, Helena Briggs, will be giving a talk on the “Laborers for His Harvest: Life as a Missionary in the Lord’s Vineyard.”
Come early for food and drinks at 6:30 p.m. The talk begins at 7:30 p.m. and ends with Q & A.
Helena Briggs was born and raised in Front Royal, VA, and attended Christendom College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. There she was a member of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams, as well as president of the Student Activities Council, organizing and hosting social events for the student body. Throughout college and after graduating, she worked at Rappahannock Cellars as a wine production assistant, learning how to literally work the harvest when “the laborers are few.” After a long period of soul-searching and job-hopping, she discovered God’s calling to become a missionary with Catholic Sports and is now excited to have partnered with the Basilica of Saint Mary to build this new location to the East Coast and bring young adults closer to Christ through this ministry.
This event is co-sponsored by the Basilica of Saint Mary and the Office of Youth, Campus and Young Adult Ministries.
