CCD Registration Summer School
Has your child missed a year of faith formation or needs a catechesis refresher?
The Basilica of Saint Mary CCD program is for children (kindergarten (age 5) through year 8) of parishioners of The Basilica of Saint Mary who are not enrolled in a Catholic School.
Our systematic children’s faith formation/CCD program meets during the school years for a minimum of 30 hours of religious education, however, for children who have not been attending CCD classes regularly, our Summer Catch-up program may be an option for parish families. Children may be able to enroll in the Summer Catch-up (begin in June and complete lessons/assessments by August 30). Special permission from the Director of Religious Education (DRE) may be granted for non-parishioners to enroll their children. Please contact the DRE at 703-836-4100 ext. 3023 for more information.
Preparation for First Reconciliation/First Holy Communion requires two consecutive years (Years/Grades 1, 2 for baptized children) of preparation along with the child’s desire for the Sacraments. For students desiring the Sacrament of Confirmation, the preparation is three consecutive years (Years/Grades 6, 7, 8 for baptized children). For sacramental years, other activities will be discussed with parents in their child’s year 2 and year 8 respectively. Enrollment is encouraged from kindergarten through year 8 as each year builds on the next year for faith formation.
This Summer School Catch-Up is not for students enrolled in our CCD Homeschool program or The Basilica of Saint Mary School.
