Be Enrolled in the Brown Scapular on July 16, 2025, after the 8 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Masses
Wednesday, July 16, 2025, is the Memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Blessed Mother will be honored on this date under that title after the 8 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Masses, as parishioners will have the opportunity to receive and be enrolled in the Brown Scapular, an outward sign of one’s interior consecration to Our Lady. The Brown Scapular consists of two small pieces of cloth joined by strings and worn over the shoulders. According to tradition, Our Lady gave the scapular as a sign of salvation to Saint Simon Stock, a Carmelite priest, in 1251. She promised: “Those who die wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire.” If you have been enrolled in the past, you are enrolled for life, but you can still come to the Masses on July 16 to renew your own relationship with Our Lady.
