Donate to the 2021 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal

The Bishop’s Lenten Appeal is the primary means of support for the many diocesan-wide ministries, programs, services and good works of our faith community. Support of the appeal helps the less fortunate among us, provides spiritual and physical comfort and counsel to those in crisis, and inspires children, young adults and families to embrace and nurture their Catholic faith. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our faith and trust in Jesus have sustained us as we experienced the pandemic in our lives. During this unprecedented time, I have been uplifted by the steady support of the Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA) which funds more than 40 ministries and outreach programs in our diocese.

The theme for the 2021 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal is Encourage One Another by Word and Deed. Participating in the BLA is an opportunity for us to imitate Christ and to bear witness to his transforming love. By sharing our gifts, we help those whose needs are the greatest: the poor and the vulnerable. Our gifts also demonstrate our commitment to promoting the sanctity of life, the teaching of our Catholic faith, our service to the youth and vocations for the priesthood.

I respectfully ask that, if your circumstances allow, you please give prayerful consideration to a sacrificial pledge to the BLA this year.

May Our Lord Jesus bless you as together, in his name, we encourage one another by word and deed.

Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge
Bishop of Arlington
