Join Us for Mass on Ash Wednesday on February 18, 2026

Ash Wednesday begins on February 18, 2026, kicking off 40 days of Lent in which the Church calls the faithful to conversion and to truly prepare to live the mysteries of the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All are invited to attend Mass on Ash Wednesday at the Basilica. See below for Mass times. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. Read more about those practices here. Lenten Suppers will be served on Friday evenings during Lent in our Lyceum Auditorium, 313 Duke Street. The first one will be hosted by the Young Adult apostolate on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 6-7 p.m.  Stations of the Cross follows in the church from 7-7:30 p.m. Confessions start at 7:30 p.m.
