Ancient Order of Hibernians

The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is America’s oldest Irish Catholic fraternal organization, founded in 1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a series of similar societies that existed in Ireland for more than 300 years. The AOH promotes Irish culture, history, music, traditions and charitable giving.

The Frank Herbert-Pat Cady Division in Alexandria, VA, was founded in 2011 at St. Mary’s.  Practicing Catholic men (16 or older) of Irish lineage are welcome to join. Meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month during the school year (September through May) upstairs at Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub on King Street in Alexandria, VA.  Doors open at 6:45pm and the meeting begins at 7:30pm. Kenneth J. Wolfe is the president (aohpresident@outlook.com ), and Dan McCormick is the recruiter (aohmembership@outlook.com). For more information, please see their website.
