Basilica Events during Our 230th Anniversary in 2025

This year, 2025, is a special year for our beloved Basilica as our parish community celebrates 230 years as a loving and welcoming community anchored in the truth of Catholic teaching as taught by the magisterium of the Church and faithful to the Holy Father. During the upcoming year, there will be many occasions where we will be celebrating how we share our faith and evangelize our community through worship, education, service, and fellowship. Here are some planned upcoming events:

Feb. 14: 7:00 pm – High School Deanery II Line Dancing, auditorium
Feb. 22: 7:00 pm – 230th Anniversary Choral Vespers in church, followed by reception in auditorium

March 1: 6:00 pm – HSA Gala and Auction, Army Navy Country Club
March 3: 6:30 pm – Theology on Tap with Virginia Nyce, regarding the Basilica’s history book and 230th anniversary, Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub in Old Town.
March 10-13: Parish Lenten Mission

April 8: 6:00 pm – Young Adult tour of church and museum

May 31: 8:00 am – Run with Haste 5K, Feast of the Visitation

June 3: Basilica School’s 4th Grade 230th Anniversary History Pageant: morning and evening performances in school gym
June 21 or 22: Choral Concert for Corpus Christi (date/time TBD)
June 29: 7:00 pm – Choral Organ Concert, Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul

July 31: Pilgrimage to Port Tobacco, Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

August: Organ dedication concert (date/time TBD)
Aug. 16: Regina Caeli Ball, auditorium
Aug. 24: 2:00 pm – High School Ministry kick-off, consecration of the year to Mary as the Basilica’s patron and recognition of her queenship
August: Basilicopoly game ready for distribution at start of ‘25-‘26 school year. Cost $25. Launch event in August

Oct. 5: Oktoberfest Parish Picnic – Bishop Burbidge to attend
Oct. 17, 24 and 25: 6:30 pm – Back from the Dead, Basilica cemetery and school

Nov. 2: All Souls Day program at Basilica Cemetery – TBD
Nov. 22: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm – High School Families Day of Prayer and Celebration – lunch/talent show, celebration of parish history and look

Dec. 6: 6:00 pm – 230th Anniversary Gala to celebrate Basilica’s history
