Young Adult Camping Trip May 2021

Overview

Young adults (ages 21-39) are invited on a tent camping trip over Memorial Day Weekend, from Thursday, May 27th to Sunday, May 30th, 2021 at Wolf Gap Recreation Area in Wardensville, WV, about two hours west of Alexandria.

There is no cost for this trip, but participants are expected to help provide the food and other supplies necessary to make this camping trip a success! Participants are not required to attend for the entire weekend in order to participate.

There are two camping options for participants. Fr. David Dufresne, parochial vicar at the Basilica, will be arriving on Thursday afternoon and will be leading a group that will camp at the top of Big Schloss Mountain. Participants who join throughout the weekend are welcome to camp with this group. For those who want to camp near their cars, another group will camp at one of the campsites near the Wolf Gap Trailhead off State Route 675. Over the weekend, the two groups can coordinate hikes, meals, Mass, prayer time, and other collaborations.

We will plan to have Mass every day on Friday and Saturday and have time for confession and Lectio preparation for the Sunday readings. Participants will be contacted to complete a Sign-Up Genius for the food and other supplies.
