Saint Andrew Christmas Anticipation Prayer and Novena to the Immaculate Conception

There are two traditional Church devotions that begin today.

Saint Andrew Christmas Anticipation Prayer
Beginning today, the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle, this prayer is traditionally recited fifteen times a day until Christmas:

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, [here mention your request] through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

Novena to the Immaculate Conception
December 8 is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To prepare for the Patronal Feast Day of the United States, pray this Novena to the Immaculate Conception beginning today and conclude on December 8. The novena includes Gospel passages and meditations from Pope Francis and Saint Josemaría Escrivá.
