It is a blessing to once again invite you to our annual Oktoberfest
as a special way of bringing our parish and school family together for an afternoon filled with tradition, great food, and new activities. The event will occur on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. on the school grounds and in the gymnasium of The Basilica School of Saint Mary (400 Green Street). This is a free event for parishioners and school families, although free-will donations will be gladly accepted to support the school’s Mater Dei
Join us for music with the Mount Vernon Community Band and delicious German-themed food (traditional roasted pig, strudel, etc.) in one of the most fun-filled, family-oriented of all our parish events. Parish apostolate groups are sponsoring outdoor information booths so you can get to know, and perhaps join, their work. Children can enjoy face painting and other activities.
With regard to COVID-19 protocols, we will have additional outdoor tables and seating to accommodate those who are more comfortable experiencing Oktoberfest outside. We will also have professional food servers who will assist you with your delicious German food selection. We have fun outdoor activities planned for the young, and young at heart, and a big TV screen for football fans to watch the Washington Football Team take on the KC Chiefs.
