March Holiness at the Basilica of Saint Mary

Dear Sons and Daughters in Christ,

As many of you know, March is a time which is synonymous with “March Madness,” the popular NCAA basketball tournament. In addition to basketball madness, I thought we could focus on “March Holiness” at the Basilica of Saint Mary. We have a full schedule of events as we “march toward holiness” this Lent. My challenge to you is to try to attend at least seven of these events, whether alone or as a family.

Just as we cheer for our favorite team, the angels and saints will be rooting for us as we strive for the ultimate victory, eternal life. I invite you to join us as we strive to cooperate more fully with God’s grace during  this special time of the year.

Remember that the beginning of becoming a saint is to want to be one and to try to keep a supernatural view of daily life.

Yours in Christ,
Father Edward Hathaway
Rector, Basilica of Saint Mary
