Knights of Columbus to host “Hands Free Donation Drive” for the St. Lucy Food Project

The Basilica of Saint Mary’s Knights of Columbus – Fitzgerald Council 459 will host a drive to raise funds for the Saint Lucy Project on Sunday, April 19, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm outside of the Basilica. The Saint Lucy Project, a program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, feeds hungry people throughout the Diocese by operating and stocking food pantries.

No contact methods and social distancing practices will be implemented. Because of this, no food donations will be accepted. Cash and checks (made out to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington with Saint Lucy Food Project in the memo line) may be dropped off during the drive. The Knights will also take credit card donations on Sunday. Online contributions are currently being accepted here on Faith Direct.

There is an urgent need since over 300,000 Virginians have applied for unemployment and the Saint Lucy Food Project can’t accept food donations at parishes due to the Coronavirus pandemic  The Knights look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Thank you for your generosity.
