Date Night at the Basilica
All engaged and married couples are invited to Date Night at the Basilica on Friday, June 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Basilica of Saint Mary’s Lyceum Auditorium.
Beverly Tauke will present “Marriage Inoculation: Wise, Strategic Communication.” Marital communication habits tend either to nurture emotional intimacy and inoculate relationships from needless wounds – or have a negative effect on marriage and home life. Integrating research and biblical concepts, this interactive program will offer persuasion techniques that enable win-win conflict resolution and will examine generational communication patterns to avoid for the sake of marital and family cohesion.
Date Night at the Basilica is a quarterly fellowship event and speaker series focused on living the Sacrament of Marriage. This event will include a romantic Cuban inspired buffet dinner. The menu is salad, white rice with black beans, pork tenderloins with Cuban mojo, plantains, picadillo with dinner rolls, yellow rice with chorizo, Cuban crackers, tres leche dulce cakes/flan, and sangria.
This is an adults only event to help foster an intimate environment for married couples. Child care will be available in the Lyceum, but it must be reserved in advance. Following the event, couples are invited to continue the evening at Union Street Pub for fellowship and adult beverages.
Space for each Date Night at the Basilica is limited, so please register below to reserve your place. Donations will be accepted on Faith Direct to help cover speaker and catering costs (or you may bring a check or cash to the event).
