Our 2021 Oktoberfest will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m. on the grounds and in the gymnasium of the Basilica School of Saint Mary. Please listen to the podcast above to hear Emma Lopo-Sullivan, a former Oktoberfest organizing leader, and Jarrett Lee, a current Oktoberfest organizing leader, talk about this fun event.

Begun in 2002, the Basilica of Saint Mary Oktoberfest is an annual parish-wide celebration held on the grounds of the Basilica School of Saint Mary each October. More than 400 parishioner families and individuals attend for an entertaining Sunday afternoon to experience authentic German fare, such as brats, beer, pastries, and a polka band, plus fun activities and crafts for the kids.

As in previous years, volunteers from the parish, including the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, work together to make the event a great success.

Admission to the event is free. Parishioners are welcome to make a free-will donation to support the school’s Mater Dei Program Fund. Part of the school’s learning resources, the Mater Dei program supports our students with special needs.
