Basilica Clergy and Parishioners Stand Up for Life during the 2023 March for Life in D.C.

A group of Basilica parishioners, led by Basilica priests — Father Edward Hathaway, the Rector, and parochial vicars Father Peter Clem and Father Joseph Townsend — participated in the 2023 March for Life in Washington, D.C., earlier today. The group passed by the U.S. Capitol Building, instead of convening in front of the U.S. Supreme Court as it has in years past. The reason is simple: the Supreme Court is no longer the epicenter of the abortion battle as it overturned the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion last year. The battle has now shifted to the state level.

With that in mind, to show state legislators what we think about pro-life issues, the Basilica will take a bus to stand up for the Culture of Life in Richmond on February 1, 2023, to meet lawmakers in the morning and March for Life in the afternoon. Click here to sign up to go by bus with us.
