August Theology on Tap

All young adults (21-39) are invited to Theology on Tap in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria at Murphy’s Irish Pub, 2nd floor on Monday, August 5th. Michael Staron will be giving a talk entitled “To the Heart of Christian Philosophy: Faith, Reason, and Dialogue in the World Today.”

Come early for food and drinks at 6:30pm! The talk begins at 7:30pm and ends with Q&A.

About the Speaker & Murphy's

About the Speaker

Michael Staron was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, where he lived until 2009 with his parents and his younger sister. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Drew University and later moved down to Washington, D.C., where he received his Master’s in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America. Michael taught at CUA’s FYE program for 4 years and is currently a PhD candidate there, where he is writing a dissertation entitled “Constituent Ontologies and the Unity Problem: A Thomist Analysis,” focused on Saint Thomas Aquinas’ metaphysics in dialogue with contemporary metaphysics. He is also a full-time middle school and high school religion and philosophy teacher at St. Anselm’s Abbey School in D.C. and frequently teaches Logic and Ethics classes at CUA. Michael was married at the Basilica of Saint Mary in March, 2019 and resides in Alexandria with his wife.
